Week 2 – Assignment: Critique Federal Statues, Cases, and Regulations Assignment Task: Submit to complete this assignment Due January 16 at 11:59 PM For this assignment, you will create a presentation that includes a critique of each of the Acts (including a discussion of penalties for non-compliance). Include one (1) U.S. Supreme Court case that applies to higher education for Title VI, VII, and Title IX. Make sure you provide a short synopsis of the decision. Note: A case synopsis is not required for the Clery Act as at the time this course was developed there have been no decisions pertaining to the Act by the U.S. Supreme Court. Include a minimum number of five (5) slides for your assignment, excluding the title slide and references. Your presentation must contain detailed speaker notes with appropriate citations. In addition, it is expected that you produce an appropriate instructional design (not just bullet points). Include graphics, tables, figures, etc., where appropriate. Here is an example of a slide presentation: Title slide Introduction Title VI U.S. Supreme Court Case Title VII U.S. Supreme Court Case Title IX U.S. Supreme Court Case Conclusion References Your slide presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the legal and regulatory ideas covered in the course. Visually the slides should be appropriate for an actual presentation—a general guideline is no more than 6 bullets and 7 words per bullet. Bullet Points are only cues as the details are in your copious speaker notes. Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA edition standards.
