Morality & Ethics within Toxic vs. Healthy Organizations (no more than 200 words)
While Kellerman (2004) contends that bad leadership is not an aberration, but a ubiquitous and insidious part of everyday life that must be carefully examined and better understood (book cover), we need to consider that bad or dysfunctional leadership spawns toxic organizations. Lennick et al. (2011) furthered this concept in their discussion of company leaders who have demonstrated what they refer to as moral stupidity, while others have exhibited moral intelligence. What have been your experiences in toxic versus healthy organizations?  Specifically, what was the difference in the communication employed?
What is one example when the moral stupidity of a leader has personally affected you? Where did the leader go wrong and how were those ethics communicated to the followers?
What is one example when the moral intelligence of a leader has personally affected you?  What did the leader do right in terms of ethics and how were those ethics communicated to the followers?
The Allure of Toxic Leaders (no more than 200 words)
Lipman-Blumen (2005) purported, there is an allure of toxic leaders. From your experience, what do you think is that allure and how do you propose to manage those toxic personalities?
What does the Scripture directly or indirectly infer concerning dysfunctional/toxic leadership and what is your personal responsibility to not fall into this trap? In other words, what can you do to avoid becoming a dysfunctional/toxic leader?  What can you do to ensure that your own organization does not become toxic?
